Maudy Apon is an accomplished pianist and keyboard player, singer and music teacher. She is also passionate about music supporting meditation. In her diversified career she played together with proven jazz musicians such as the formidable Hein Van de Geyn and the outstanding pianist Robert Rook.
She studied at the Jazz Piano Performing Artist department of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and has her Master's of Education in Arts of the School of the Arts in Utrecht. She also studied intensively with amongst others Patricia van Oosten, founder of the Sacred Voice Training method and Heent Prins.
'Katidjah' is the name Maudy Apon carries to honour the mother of her Indonesian (Javanese) father, Nicolaas Apon. As an artist Katidjah is concerned with spreading light, creating peace, and sharing the joy in her heart. She also strives for more understanding of the mentally challenged.
January 2011 Maudy Apon received her certificate 'Working with own experience' from her two female experience expert teachers at Care Importance, Basic Deliberation department and Foundation Rehabilitation '92 (Zorgbelang Zuid-Holland, afdeling Basisberaad en Stichting Rehabilitatie '92).
